  4. CONCEPT: Plots on watts – It is the urban community for young adults. Good idea to get your friend to help you to do the graffiti. DAVID CARSON. You and a great idea and the way you were going about your research, working with friends made for a design that could have really referenced your idea. But be careful that your idea has a good intent and really could work. Where were they going to do this artwork? Where in the streets?
DESIGN: The Graffiti words stand out, because of your color choice. Watch the pivotal point where the towers meet with the 2nd graffiti, on the bottom, and there is nothing there for this to be so important. The use of graffiti references your target market. I still think there needs to be a bit of a different colored shape, or mark making on the page – to give variety, and integrate the image into the background. The brick wall is good and realistic.
The type on the side is an OK idea, but it needs to be facing out, in a different typeface and smaller. Perhaps it should be on a white background. The top graffiti is the best with the shadow while the 2nd slogan is flat and looks like it is just plopped onto the background.
It is a good idea to fold it over so that the text is separated from the image – a good idea. The image is a little confusing and this would be solved if you thought about your hierarchy? B-
BLOG: I want to see all your process, some of the picture roughs, some of your final digitals, even your first bad roughs – just a few. Your reference to your designer- an image or 2 and your back up information that describes why you did what you did. John Ross has an excellently direct and simple blog example.!!
Presentation / Participation: You have presented your work well, but you need to really stand up for your beliefs and be a bit more solid in your discussion. You are a very talented young woman with some great ideas. I would like to see you participate more in class so that you can get and give some solid discussions about the works!!
